ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical BVBA (ExxonMobil) sought to expand production at its Antwerp, Belgian refinery by adding a new delayed coker unit.

From our office in Haarlem, Netherlands, Fluor provided engineering and design support for ExxonMobil's Antwerp Northwest Europe Resid Upgrade Project (ANWERUP). We were responsible for the refinery's new delayed coker unit that would convert heavy, higher sulfur residual oils into transportation fuel products such as marine gasoil and diesel fuel.

Our responsibilities spanned the project's life cycle and included design, engineering, procurement, module fabrication, transportation, installation and construction.

We applied our modular execution and construction innovations in order to deliver schedule and capital efficiencies to ExxonMobil.
