Executive Summary
Fluor provided a full range of design/build and construction services to support U.S. military operations in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Fluor was awarded a nationwide contract in 2003 by the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to provide reconstruction services in Iraq. Fluor provided rapid mobilization to respond to the Iraq Restoration efforts. The company was awarded Task Orders for repair / new construction of power generation stations as part of Restore Iraq Electricity (RIE) program in central Iraq.
As part of the RIE Task Order, Fluor repaired and installed more than 200 transmission towers, 680km of 400kv transmission cable and replaced over 3,500 turbine blades damaged in the conflict.
Fluor constructed and repaired a 2,500-person man camp, comprised of 60 buildings at Camp Slayer, and designed and built military housing for 500 people at Camp Victory.
Fluor leveraged its established logistics network to deliver long-lead equipment items expeditiously, e.g., turbines and transformers to provide emergency power to Iraq.
