Executive Summary
Fluor was awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction management for Gate Terminal's LNG Break Bulk Terminal in Rotterdam. Our services at the terminal covered the jetty, loading facilities, boil-off gas compressors, connection to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and other facilities.
Client's Challenge
The LNG Break Terminal project was designed to help address Northern Europe's need for LNG as a transportation fuel. Break terminals slip up large-scale LNG shipments into smaller quantities to facilitate the distribution of LNG to be used as fuel for ships and heavy trucks.
Fluor's Solution
Our LNG engineering, procurement and construction expertise was critical for the execution of this important European project. Our office in Spain led the project and provided design-build services for terminal facilities in Rotterdam.
Conclusion
We appreciated the opportunity to work with Gate Terminal to provide LNG as a transportation fuel for Europe. We have served the LNG industry for more than 50 years and have participated in a wide variety of LNG projects, including various types of terminals.
